O Me! O Life! - Walt Whitman

O Me! O life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring-What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here-that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

One of the Walt Whitman poems from Dead Poets Society.

Horoscopes Coincidence

On Friday night I watched Dead Poets Society. I always list it as my favourite film even though I had only seen it once in 1992 during the last week of Grade 7. I now remember why. Such an incredible film.

I really needed a ‘Seize the Day’ style kick up the arse considering ‘tis Febualready yet very few of my 437 plans have been completed.

This afternoon while reading The Weekend Australian Magazine I had a peek at my horoscopes as according to Mystic Medusa

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Mars in your sign is now charging over ground covered in September. So, a dispute or dilemma from then gets fresh verve. Carpe diem, and remember that your gorm is fuelled by a fantastic new moon eclipse this week - it’s in Gemini-friendly Aquarius and close to your ruler, Mercury. From Tuesday you are more adept at life and imbued with good ideas. It’s the dark moon till then - so contemplative and with a strong emotional undertow.

That is a very groovy coincidence. Besides the carpe diem reminder, I do have a couple of life-changing concerns from late September / early October that are still a mess which require my attention to fix. Fuck. If Mystic Medusa continues to be this accurate I might actually start believing these things.
