There are so few ways for Australian’s to support Barry so updating my tumblr theme is a small half-arsed way I can get behind him. Nice work Matt! Also, someone else has done a WordPress theme.

So how much “tumblr money” do I get for bringing someone into the cult?

This tutorial is only to do this with quotes but it shouldn’t be too difficult to hack it to make it work with photos as well.

I think he’d be a totally cool blogger here and not preachy or anything like he would be on his regular blog. Sure he probably wouldn’t stay up all night having flirtatious re-blogging conversations with female bloggers like Ryan Adams used to (whatever happened to him? He was like Obama on here for two or so weeks) but I still think he would embed South Park videos whenever they took the piss out of him with a LOL!!! Not again :) comment added to show he’s cool with it.
Sorry to the agnostics and mates of Lucifer who I know rather tweeting but his twitter habits have been discussed already.

i wish the dashboard had a search feature. there have been numerous moments where i thought to myself, “i really wish i could find that post about such-and-such but i don’t remember who posted it.”

You can create your own personal tumblr search engine either by adding the RSS feeds of everyone you are following to Google Reader to piggyback its search functionality or by setting up a Google Co-op search engine and adding everyone’s URLs to it. Both are laborious tasks but the Google Reader option is better because the regular Google search index which powers Google Co-op has a tough time indexing tumblr blogs.
Though hopefully Macro might have a proper search feature added soon or the ingenuity of Willy Wonka/Rupert Murdoch might come to the rescue.

Srsly you guys, get out of my head. Srsly.
I think that’s a cool idea. My version couldn’t be as slick and integrated as DavMar’s version obviously, but what if it worked like this: You go to a site, and do a one-time action so that it’ll monitor your feed for a special phrase that you put before a question. So, your feed is read and it’ll pluck out any posts with that string automatically, and place them publicly on the site.
Since I already have heylazyweb.com, I’d want to use that domain and the phrase “hey lazyweb,” before any query. How ‘bout them apples?
You are the magician, the master, the whiz. I and all tumblrs are indebted to you for your mad skillz. Whenever you get the time, it would a great site to use.
If when you post a question it gets sent to a special public section sort of like the radar where all tumblrs could read it instead of only your followers. Then you would have a larger pool of possible respondents and a better chance to get your question answered.

In this parallel internet that is the tumblr universe, topherchris is a non-evil version of Rupert Murdoch.
