The way great things happen is when people are willing to submerge their own egos and just focus on bringing their particular gifts and passions and energy and vision to a common task that great things can be accomplished.
I have again been reminded of this Barack Obama quote from when he was speaking to his campaign staff in Chicago on June 6, 2008 after he won the democratic nomination. Had an unfreakingbelievable good day yesterday speaking to a media organisation I adore and respect. I was impressed by their energy, ideas and willingness to change to meet the social/cultural and technological shift in audience behaviour. But what the day really brought home to me was through their size and reach compared to me as an individual developer/producer/ideas person is their potential to collectively do truly amazing things.
