Overused Words and Phrases to Banish in 2008
Although a softcore logophile, the Word of the Year lists being published by dictionaries have started to annoy me.
After Stephen Colbert’s Truthiness took it out a few years ago it has all been down hill. Like, what’s the point? You could never top that word and everything it means. Never.
Though I have found an annual list of words I can appreciate.
Lake Superior State University are giving back to English speakers everywhere with their 33rd annual List of Words Banished from the Queen’s English for Misuse, Overuse and General Uselessness.
