Hello America!

I’m in Australia but woke up at 3am so turned on the telly and America’s Today show with Matt Laurer was on. The 1st story with special comments from some guy outside a corporate headquarters - Belgium beer company buys an American beer company. The 2nd story with no special comments - 9 Americans being killed in Afghanistan. *super sigh*

Critics should be the last journalists to go

“Newspapers should have been at the forefront in the attacks on the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill which eliminated speech against politicians in the 60 days before an election. Journalists often would be fulfilling their responsibilities to the American experiment better by reporting on issues like these that are hiding in plain sight.”

“Real journalism” is not about exposing what is hidden, but what diminishes individual rights

Mediawhoredom

Just picked another radio thing. I will be working the decks over the weekend during the midnight till dawn shifts on Brisbane’s christian youth radio station God is Cool FM. ‘Tis the dance music show I’ll be presenting with a shirtless man I met dancing one night in Fortitude Valley, a cool guy named Jesus. Remember kids, religion and glow sticks are not mutually exclusive.

In other news: I kicked arse on talk back a few nights ago. Was like doing tech support but without the nasty customers. So cool.
